Become a sponsor in the Second Annual Home Front Festival, October 4th and 5th, along the Richmond Shoreline!
The City, the Chamber and our many partners combined our former Festival by the Bay and diversity celebrations into a unique weekend of historic tours, maritime experiences, and a traditional carnival, with crafts and games, food and rides for children. We're planning lively entertainment, Rosie the Riveter reunions, a return of our famously fun USO dance, and the opportunity for the entire Bay Area to celebrate the hey-day that was the World War II home front effort. Richmond residents show-off their art and music; local companies toot their horns and tout their products. Richmond's history surprises and delights us.
This year, name entertainment will draw the younger crowd into the experience of our history. We're highlighting the Rosie the Riveter National Park and the role of the railroads. Festival maps, with local advertising, will serve as year-round guides to what is worth seeing on the Richmond Shoreline. These experiences help tell and re-tell the real story of Richmond. The story of how we became who we are.
We look forward to working with you. We welcome your ideas for helping to make the 2008 Home Front Festival a success.
